Terminal Pumping Station Necton Norfolk

Client: Necton ManagementAnglian Water
Project Value: £325,000
Scope:

Delta were awarded the above project to upgrade the sewerage infrastructure on the Necton Estate to meet the adoptable standards set by Anglian Water.

The works required the construction of a new sewerage pumping station consisting of a 7m diameter x 12m deep wet well as a jacked down caisson below the water table, plus construction of a 3m diameter valve chamber, including all the mechanical and electrical installations, new headhouse and demolition of existing pumping station.

The gravity pipeline feeding the station required the installation of  2no 450 diameter microtunnels in two drives including a river crossing plus open cut works. The microtunnel option was proposed as an alternative option to open cut due to the high water table present in the area, and to reduce dramatically the number of  vehicular movements in the vicinity for ‘muck away’ and imported fill.
